Meet my gorgeous and incredibly stylish sister-in-law Maddie T. She is the youngest of my husband's siblings, preparing for her first year in college in a few months, and the sweetest thing I know in Louisiana! Today I had the pleasure of styling several different looks on Maddie in preparation for my upcoming fashion show debut here in Lafayette. These are just some of the beautiful Automatic Doll clothes and accessories Maddie so expertly modeled earlier today!

The time is drawing near for the Fresh & Local fashion show fundraiser here in Lafayette, Louisiana! Check out the images below the flyer for a sneak preview of the sorts of styles that my small company, Automatic Doll, will be presenting on the runway at this exciting evening of food, fashion, and music! I hope to see many of you there!

So now I'm a brunette. In other news, however, there are lots of sparkly new accessories up on my Etsy store, Automatic Doll - including this beautiful white feather neck piece.
"I dream of Jeanie with the light brown hair,
Borne, like a vapor, on the summer air:
I see her tripping where the bright streams play,
Happy as the daisies that dance on her way."

I've fallen in love with my new handmade vintage high-waisted Levi's cut-off jeans shorts. Everyone has a pair, and I did not yet have one of my own, so rather than purchasing overpriced ones over the internet or at a boutique, I simply went to the Goodwill and made my own from some kid's jeans. Voila! I am now a character from Dazed and Confused. Check out my Etsy in the next few days, as I will begin to sell these as well!
My little bum has never looked so cute!
** I am wearing thrifted vintage Levi's cut-offs, a vintage Grateful Dead tee, thrifted belt, Steve Madden brown leather wedge booties, and Automatic Doll ring, bracelet, necklaces, headdress, and ear cuffs.

Below are the latest designs from Rootwork. These large and bright pieces of jewelry are perfect for the coming Spring and Summer months, creating a tribal yet industrial accent for warmer styles.
"I wanted to be where the winds of adventure blew. And the winds of adventure blew the oyster pirate sloops up and down San Francisco Bay, from raided oyster-beds and fights at night on shoal and flat, to markets in the morning against city wharves, where peddlers and saloon-keepers came down to buy."

**Creamy drawstring top from somewhere in the Yucatan; skirt and peach tank by XXI; leather wedge booties by Steve Madden; belts: Loft, thrifted, and Target; jewelry and feather headdress by Automatic Doll.

Let us welcome in the Spring with rich colors in pinks, blues, purples, and greens, and of course flowers, flowers, flowers!
"That though the radiance which was once so bright be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower. We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind."
